Shari Daniels, LM, CPM, MS Ed
Shari is quite possibly America's most experienced midwife. In a career that started almost 30 years ago, Shari has delivered over 10,000 babies, the majority of those in homes or birth centers. Besides opening the first midwife-run birth center in the United States in El Paso Texas, Shari has also delivered babies and assisted in opening birth centers in Mexico, Israel, India, Ecuador and Jamaica.
Known as the mother of modern day midwifery, Shari opened the first direct-entry midwifery school in the United States and has trained over 500 midwives from coast to coast. She is the president and chief midwife of the Miami Maternity Center. Her joy in life is being at the birth of a baby.
Shari became a midwife after having her first child in a hospital environment and experiencing first hand the lack of personal attention given to a mother during childbirth.
